Leading the Green Agenda
Labour declared a climate emergency in 2019 and committed the Borough to doing all it can to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030, ahead of the Conservative governments own target. With a number schemes already up and running and more to come, Labour is leading the Green Agenda in Telford and Wrekin. In July Wellington bus station became the very first nationally to be 100% off-grid and 'Carbon Negative' as the biodiverse shelter roofs actually consume carbon.

The Wrekin stretches from Isombridge to Albrighton and from Newport to Wrockwardine. Encompassing broad and diverse communities in both rural and urban areas along the way. Blessed with greenery and history, The Wrekin is home to Labour Party members from all walks of life. The Wrekin has a proud history of Labour activism and it continues to this day. With a significant number of Parish and Borough Councillors working everyday to represent the voices of residents and to improving lives. We champion Security, Prosperity and Respect

Wrekin Labour member and significant voice of authority on food standards recently appeared on BBC Radio 4 as a panellist and speaker on “The Food Programme”.

Ralph Early, a food scientist, a Trustee of the Food Ethics Council and a Fellow of the Institute of Food Science and Technology. He was formerly Professor of Food Industry at Harper Adams University and has also worked in the food industry itself, primarily in the dairy sector.
